1. The aim of MUSLIM FUNERAL SOCIETY is to provide financial assistance to a member, his/her spouse and dependents in the event of bereavement in the family.
2. Anyone who wants to become a member of this Society will have to adhere strictly to all the rules.
3. Every member must renew his/her membership by paying the Annual Subscription fee between the 1st of January and 28th of February of each year. Failure to renew membership results in a forfeit of his/her membership and right to claim benefits in the event of bereavement.
4. By virtue of his/her membership, a member's spouse (joining fee is paid) and children up to age of Eighteen years (up to 18 years) will be treated as members of the Muslim Funeral Society.
5. After the death of a member, his/her widow/widower and children up to the age stated in paragraph 4 will remain members of the Muslim Funeral Society providing the widow/widower continues to pays the annual subscription and subsequent renewal fees.
6. Member's children who reach the age of 18 years are eligible to apply for the membership in their own right. (Please see new members section below)
1. All UK National Muslims between the ages of 18-50 years with NO know terminal illness, or NOT currently receiving hospital treatment or NOT having cancer or is NOT HIV positive is eligible for membership of the Muslim Funeral Society.
2. Any child who was covered under their parents membership but now over the age of 18 years, is required to take out membership in their own name.
3. All new members MUST return the Doctors letter provided by the Muslim Funeral Society, completed and stamped by their GP, along with proof of ID, and address before an application for membership can be accepted.
4. Both the Membership Fee and the Annual Subscription Fee must be paid in full for membership to be accepted.
5. From 2020 all members must pay both the Membership Fee (where applicable) and Annual Subscription Fee by bank transfer. Standing Order Mandate form can be completed and submitted to your bank for yearly bank transfer to take place of your annual fee.
6. All cancelled memberships will require applicant to re-apply for membership by following the above rules for new members and MUST pay BOTH the Membership Fee and Annual Subscription Fee.
The Membership Fee to join the Muslim Funeral Society is £500.00 per adult and is not refundable.
The Annual Subscription Fee for membership of the Muslim Funeral Society is currently set at £80.00 annually and shall not be refundable.
The Membership Fee for any child who was covered under their parents membership but now 18 years old, is discounted to £300.00 plus the Annual Subscription Fee of £80.00 is payable.
Please Note: Due to external factors such Council burial fees, and costs of wooden coffins and other related costs,
BOTH Membership Fee and Annual Subscription Fee are subject to change.
